On Friday September 27, a few members of the Jackson high school chapter of Future Business Leaders of America attended a rival football game between Jackson Indians and Cape Central Tigers. Seven members helped with this fundraiser after the first quarter of the football game.
During this time, the members passed buckets throughout the crowd asking for donations. These donations were given to the SEMO food bank. Cape FBLA also participated in this event and it became a friendly competition between the two schools. Jackson FBLA raised $240.44 and over $400 was raised total.
Chapter awards coordinator said, “I was surprised just how many people were willing to donate. The real shock was when we found the crumpled up 100 dollar bill in one of our buckets.”
Next year Jackson FBLA hopes to publicize the event better and raise even more money for charity.
