SLC Slot Acceptance form–Please complete this form for each student who has qualified for and is accepting a State Leadership Conference slot no later than 5:00 p.m., Thursday, February 16...sooner is better. That will allow me just a few days to contact the next person in line if your student is unable to compete. We want our district represented in all events.  If they are not entered on this form by the deadline, I will offer the slot to the next person in line. If your student is not certified by me, they will not be allowed to compete at State, so it is imperative that everyone complete this form. Please be considerate and complete the form sooner rather than later. Do not wait until the deadline. You will need to complete the form for each event a student is entered in, so please enter the information for each student as you receive it instead of waiting until you have it for all of your students. This will allow me to verify the slots more quickly. Thanks!
Link to view the Slot Acceptance Form entries. I will sort the form alphabetically by event each time I am in it, but you will need to scroll to the bottom of the form to see any entries that have been put in since my last sort.
Decline SLC Slot–Please complete this form ASAP, but no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, for any student who will be unable to compete in an event for SLC so the next competitor can be invited to participate. (If declining multiple slots, be sure to fill it out separately for each event declined.) This will allow me just a few days before the registration deadline to contact the next person in line if your student is unable to compete in an event. We want our district represented in all events for SLC competition. Thanks!

(The form mentioned below is not ready.)

All D1 advisers attending SLC should complete the SLC Adviser Assignments form no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26. All slots assigned to our district must be filled for our students to be eligible for state competition.

  • District 1 has been assigned administration, timing and check-in duties for several events on Sunday and Monday. Please complete the form to let me know which event(s) you are able to assist with. You will only be assigned one of them. I will send an e-mail out in March with the final assignments. Sometime after that, Chris will be sending you the rest of the information you need.
  • Each adviser is going to need to fully understand the MISSOURI guidelines and rating sheets for the assigned event.
  • Administrators–those advisers charged with greeting judges in headquarters, escorting them to the competition room, making sure judges total their rating sheets, double checking each for correct totals, making sure JUDGES enter their scores on the tally sheet and that judges total those scores, come to consensus and either put the place or finalists on the page and then double check the math. This person is also responsible for making sure ALL materials from the judges are returned to headquarters. It is going to be essential that all these people understand and are willing/able to carry out the rules and requirements of the event.
  • Timers–keep time for our events in rooms where competitors can see them during their performances. This job has not changed in duty this year.
  • Check-in people–will collect students and walk them to the prep room or performance room (depending) when it is near their time.
The tentative schedule is now posted on the Missouri FBLA website. Once at the website point to Conferences and click on FBLA State Leadership Conference (do not scroll over to one of the steps). Once on the SLC home page, scroll down and you can see the Tentative Conference Schedule. There are also links to the hotel map and hotel information there. If you are looking for more information, please check your e-mail for an SLC update from Chris. It was sent out on February 13.
The Wild Cards for the performance events will be sent out after the last few DLCs are completed this week. As soon as I have that information I will get it out to you. I just wanted you to be prepared just in case you receive one. Those who won wild cards entries to SLC for the objective only tests have already been notified.
You may read about wild card qualifications in the Missouri Competitive Event Handbook. If you receive one for any of your students, I will contact you directly. The wildcards for objective only events were already announced at our DLC. We are just waiting on the performance events that had a test qualifier.
